Best 32" TV for under £300

My mum has asked for advice on buying a new TV. She's after a 32" LCD with Freeview (which I guess is almost everything nowadays).
I've seen this

which seems good value to me. I have a Samsung myself and it's a fabulous screen with great colours. I presume it doesn't much matter what name is written on it! Can anyone suggest a different/better one for the same or less money?

If you find a tv at the right price, find somewhere that sells it - Currys/Comet/Tesco even. Have a look at it. You shouldn't really buy any tv, especially an LCD one without looking at it yourself. Some of the budget screens are absolutely pants!"...IT'S FRUITY!"0

Very good point, but of course with a flaw in it. I have never, ever seen a store with a decent signal! All the TVs are either displaying an absolutely pants SD signal which makes even the high quality TVs look awful, or they're displaying a Blu-ray video in HD, and even the cheap ones look good.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

It may have a Samsung panel but does it have Samsung electronics to process the picture? There are only a few manufacturers of LCD panesl so all the companies tend to use the same panels. It's the way they process the signal that makes the difference.
There are some good budget TVs around but there are some awful ones as well. It's worth doing a search on https://www.avforums.copm and see what the concensus is on there regarding this TV. There will also probbaly be some recommendations for other budget TVs.It's my problem, it's my problem

£300 for a decent 32" lcd is unrealisitc. To get a good tv at that size you would need to spend at least £450+0

Really? I'm quite impressed by this.
