You can try my mum's fudge recipe, it's a lot easier than traditional ones.

    Magic French Fudge
    3 cups chocolate chips
    1/4 cup butter
    1tsp vanilla
2/3 tin of sweetened condensed milk

Melt butter in pan on low heat. Add chocolate chips, and stir until melted. Remove from heat, and add vanilla and milk. Spread into 8x8 pan lined with lightly greased parchment paper.

You can add marshmallows/nuts/etc before pouring the mixture into the pan. It helps if you mark off the squares before fudge fully sets, as you get neater cut lines.

I make a lot of 'traditional' boiled fudge, but this recipe is wonderful as it is foolproof, and so easy to make!

Try packaging in small boxes. I find that Cancer Research have a good selection of new boxes for Christmas; I always stock up in the January sales! If you have a Lakeland near, you can usually get small cake cases and other decorative goodies from there. I have bought similar items from ebay with no problems.

  • I have a low fat truffle recipe (yes you heard it) low fat (well not as fattening as the normal recipe) if anyone is interested - I'm definitely going to have a go at making this fudge x

    me 2 please..........................
  • Ok here goes as promised and I've made loads of these and no-one has ever complained :rotfl:

Usually you'd only eat one a day but I know people who can't stop - be warned they're rich.

200g of dark chocolate - if on a budget use cheap dark - I've never had any problems with it.....

6 tablespoons of strong black coffee (perculated) OR alcohol of your choice - I use cheap lidls/aldi's baileys and these go down very nicely....

    2 tablespoons of clear honey

cocoa powder or icing sugar to dust or even a mixture of both

Melt chocolate in a bain marie then add alcohol (this solidifies really quickly)

    then add the honey

leave in fridge for 30mins till hardish but not sloppy (otherwise truffles look like reindeer poop instead of mini golf balls) - if after 30 mins it hasn't set I've melted some more chocolate and stirred it in thoroughly and then it sets in 30 mins.

Once set, dust a tray or plate with desired dusting. also a good tip is to dust your palms to as the chocolate will start to melt as you're rolling them into balls. Use a spoon for the desired amount (very small golf ball size - or make them bigger if you wish - just means you'll get less.....)

Roll into a ball and dust with dusting and then either place in a decorative bowl/jar for a gift or eat them later yourself lol.

Hope this helps and if you have any questions don't hesitate to shout x
