Hi all,
I am really sorry if these questions have been answered before but really confused.
I have just come back to England after being on holiday to all this turmoil and have a few quick questions:-
Icesave
I have around 78k in savings and 6k in ISA. Will this be okay? Am i just waiting for the FSCA to sort things out or will I loose the money over 50k?
Kaupthing
I have 14k in this and can logon to the Kaupthing website okay and money is there...... I here that loads of people are loosing there money? Do I need to transfer this money somewhere or leave it as it is? Is this with Ing now even tho I logon to Kaupthing website?
thanks

IceSave: All deposits covered by FSCS. No upper limit.
Kaupthing: Yup, it's ING. Leave it, transfer it; it's up to you.0 -
Icesave, no problems, your dosh is safe but may take a while to sort out

Kaupthing, again no problems, money is 100% guaranterd by Dutch Government up to around 70K, there are a herd of folk trying to transfer out, and getting nowhere due to sytem overload
It is with ING, I also have money in ING / Kaupthing, and really cannot see any need to follow the herd in panicking, especially as HM government "nudged" Kaupthing into ING, so IMO should Dutch default, unlikely as EU member, HMG would probably pick up the tab and get it back from Netherlands in due course, as they are doing with Iceland
However, belt & braces, and once dust settles after a month or so I may move some from ING / Kaupthing to a UK based accountWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
Now that Spluff has no access for the next who knows how long to his £84K Icesave have stole, he may be left short for his day to day living expenses like many others have been. I don't know whether this is the case or not, but I don't think any of us can name-call people who do feel the need to access their KE money to pay bills if this is their only other means. To me that would be necessity, not panic.
It's enough to make yer badly0 -
