Liz, I'm lucky that my husband is very supportive and I could not do this job without him as he looks after the kids the nights I'm at work. He quite enjoys a couple of nights a week on his own for a few hours as he gets to watch all the stuff on sky plus that I have no interest in...lol. I would agree that your first parties do come from friends and you will get a few from advertising but in my experience not loads. Are there any fayres coming up that you could attend?Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

It's a bit weird really - he supports me in that he'll take me to meetings and parties if I don't want to drive, and he's offered to print out leaflets for me at work. He just seems to hate the idea of me asking our friends for help!
I'm doing some fairs, and I got 3 really keen people yesterday (although they want parties later in the year) and another 2 or 3 possibles.0 -
Do any of you have a bit of a problem with husbands/partners being quite negative about Partylite?
I felt really good about it all last night, but now I feel fed up about it after talking to DH for 5 minutes this morning. He seems to think that unless I spend hours and hours delivering leaflets or talking to people I don't know, I'm never going to get anywhere. Anytime I mention asking mutual friends to have parties, he tells me he doesn't want me hassling them. I kind of agree, as I've asked friends and they're not interested, but the local leader that supports me keeps telling me to ask friends.
What to do?
This is natural if they are not seeing the rewards from your output as yet!
I also agree with Donna - your frienda and family are the ones who help you get started - reverse the table - if one of these friends was to start a business venture and you could help them out for little effort and no money - would you do it? If the answer is yes then I would tell you to ask the friends in a non pushy manner to help you get started in your business, while also showing them the benefits they would get for helping you - If they say no then what harm has it done! Do you think they won't be friends with you anymore? No of course not. If they say yes then :j:jyippee (lol).
partyLite also do some meetings where their encourage partners to come along so they can also see the bigger picture - hopefully they will anounce some of these soon near you so you can take him along. Mu husband has been to one and had a great time he also got a freebie!:TI get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -
I don't think he really gets why people like candles! Would be good for him to get more of an idea of what goes on. I actually think he has a problem with the principles behind party planning generally.0

Hi all! I'm really interested in becoming a PL consultant as I really really love their stuff (and we need all the pennies we can get at the moment!). I have emailed the contact on their website for my area but is there any other way of signing up? I live in Medway, Kent. I'm already an Avon Rep but I really fancy taking this on too (I don't work otherwise). Thanks, FMW.Mummy to 4, Grafter, Comper, Blogger
