  • I was thinking of becoming a consultant but looking at the website my nearest consultant is around 100 miles away. Just wondered how it would then work for signing up and training as there is no one else near me. Hope someone can help

We're not all advertised on the website, we have to meet certain criteria to be put up there (I'm not on) so it's more than likely there will be someone closer than that. If you fill in your details on the website, they will put you in contact with your closest leader.

  • This thread has quietened off, but hopefully I can still get some tips...I have been a consultant for just over 8 months now. My parties are drying up. I advertise on FB and on various classified ads pages. I have tried leaflets, which generated no parties. I regularly do fairs and have 3 lined up for next month. I don't know what else I can do to encourage more parties. I have only had one party this month and have nothing booked in for the future. When I do my parties, I always get "I have never heard of PartyLite" but all I seem to be doing is advertising the brand and benefits to what could be tens of thousands of people (groups on FB) and yet I don't get any snifters of new blood! How do you get people to book parties? Thanks :)
  • Hi,

I'm still a consultant, going on 18 months now and still enjoying it :)

The PartyLite journey is different for everyone, and the more you put in the more you get out of it. So it all depends on what you want.

My personal experience: I joined so that I could have a little extra spending money and discounted products. I work part time nights and I have 2 children, my partner works all week so we only see him on weekends so I'm practically a single mother through the weeks. This means my parties are limited to weekends and I choose not to work them all as I'd like to spend time with my partner now and then! In my 18 months my parties have been up and down, I've had some months where I can't get any sales and some where I smash through my bonus targets. I know consultants who have just promoted to leader and they put a lot of work into their business, so like I said...you get out what you put in.

Doing fairs and advertising on Facebook are good ways of getting your name out there. I'm concentrating a lot on online sales using my Facebook page through the week when I cannot get out and actually party - this is a small trickling income and you find it's only a real success around key moments like Mother's day or Christmas.
A new thing I've been trying is Party In a Bag where you put a small kit together in a PartyLite holdall and give it out to a host for a week, she can then have the items on show and collect orders in. A Party without the party. This is popular with people who don't like having to sort the house out for parties, and works well with people who work with a lot of candle lovers!
Use CBC to keep track of people who have bought something specific, for example if you have someone who LOVES the Wild Strawberry fragrance and you notice it's one offer (25% off at the moment), give that person a call and just mention that you know they love it so thought you'd let them know it's on offer to save them some pennies.
Whenever a new catalogue comes out I like to post one out to my regular customers, I usually stick a little printed coupon in there with something along the lines of 'place an order over £25 and get an extra £2 off' or 'book a party with me and get an extra £10 to spend with a qualifying party (£195+1 booking)'. This has paid off for me a few times.
My only other major tip is ring people! I spent so many months scared of picking up the phone because I hated getting those kind of calls myself but bite the bullet and ring anyone who has given you permission to do so. If they've bought before ask how they liked their product and ask if they'd like to arrange a party so they can get X, Y, Z for free!

My new step that I intend to try is working my business a little bit like Kleeneze, posting out catalogues and order forms and saying I will pick it back up with any orders on a specific day. Can't tell you how it will go as I haven't tried it yet :)

If you have any other questions just ask, I'll try and help x

  • Hiya I am a Partylite Consultant and absolutely love it. I am based in Aberdeenshire.

February has been a slow month but like with all things there are ups and downs and so far March is looking better.

If anyone is looking to become a consultant you won't regret it.
I love doing parties and they are always a good giggle.
