candlesrus wrote: »I presume you have £75 of orders you need to clear your kit? The best way would be to contact a local school or book into a local xmas fair , set your kit up and collect orders at the stall. You will be surprised how many orders you get especially on the run up to christmas ( check out websites like "netmums" as there were quite a few in Bristol when I last looked). The stall usually costs about a £10 , plus a raffle donation , but it's well worth it . One of my team did a stall the other week she got about £100 of orders and got a party booked out of it , so she was really pleased ( she needed to ring them a few days after the event and book them in ) , all for giving up a few hours of her time. Gook luck , and if you have problems finding an event p.m me
I do still have a couple of fairs booked for Partylite, so I'll try that. Just fed up of the stuff hanging around the house at the moment.0 -
Not the sweets & treats set though, they're leaving that till Nov 1st.
I love the guest specials for November , and as consultants they are so cheap to buy in for yourself if you add it to a november party , take the gold versatility pair £8.50 - 25% ( for Nov) and 20-25% that you earn on it anyway , means that they are really only costing about £4.50 for the pair ( just over £2 each!). or the sparkle lites snowman £17.95 , buying it in for around £9 . Bargain!!
One of the advantages of being a consultant is that you get so many freebies and cheap candles , which you can either sell on or keep for yourself. Something which needs to be highlighted when sponsering.
I have a sheet which I show the hostess after I do a show giving an example of a £300 party , "Option A" - commision , booking gifts , hostess specials etc or "Option B" £300 kit , booking gifts and cheaper candles between 20-40% off , britestart rewards as well as earning cash . Once the hostess sees the two options side by side they often opt for option b when they see what they will get .0 -

You are great!! Just our of curiousity (can't spell) what level are you at and how many consultants do you have underneath you?

Starter party tomorrow night!!!!
Started to get a little nervous as i've still not got full confirmed no's but should be around 15 people I think, though I've passed out a few informal invites as I've seen people about so am wondering how many of them will come???
Am a little gutted as my best friend was hosting and doing back up incase I had an overwhelming blond moment but unfortunatly she's had to travel down south for sick family short notice so i'll be going a little more solo though nwe job I've been doing where I basically get paid to talk for england has boosted my confidance a bit more
Have a deal with the hubby that if I dont manage my £300 or close from the starter show he will place his mums/sisters/sis in laws etc xmas presents early, thats normally a £200 spend so even if tomorrow isn't too great I have back up (and a little less preasure to sell!!). Plus I should be seeing my big bro this weekend so I can get nagging in the way only little sisters can :rotfl: (he forgot mums bday so will be sure of a good guilt order there!!)
Next week have 2 partys booked and then the week after is down to 1 after cancellations (grrrr) but have 2 good leads on partys that can hopefully fill this time...
Well back to taking my own advice and relaxing and enjoying!!!
Fingers crossed!!!
Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone0 -

Yes , if you wanted the hostess specials , the cheapest way to do it , is to add what you want to a November party , that way you get 25% commision for November plus you earn 20-25% on it anyway ( total 45-50% off ), cheaper than doing it through a consultant order. The issue is how you collect your order 1. either arrange to collect it from the hostess or 2. Have it all delivered to your house and then deliver the stuff to the hostess0 -

My wife and I run the business together , my wife became a unit leader in October 08 , we now have a team of 23 people sponsered over the last year ( about 4 have left ) , but the others are still with us . It's been hard work but worth it .We are starting to branch out into different areas now and getting quite a lot of repeat/ telephone orders . This business can really pay off financially but you have to be prepared to work hard by creating a network of customers beyond your origional hostess's and that involves doing stalls/ events and being inventive like introducing your own incentives for booking a party ( free gifts , vouchers , own hostess and guest specials ) . Offer an excellent customer service ( like making follow up calls after a party , or offering a delivery service , gift wrapping service etc )and be 100% reliable and your hostess's will be your customers forever . keep details of all your customers and hostess's and chase up EVERY lead for parties and consultants and make the telephone your best business building tool , but most of all NEVER EVER GIVE UP!
Have a look at this website , as this woman has been an inspiration to us and offers some excellent advice

Candlerus - I agree with you completely.
This is a business and therefore you need to be able to put time and effort into your business and also take yourself out of your comfort zone sometimes.
My biggest fear was phoning people - I am not a phone person and hating doing this the first few months, I used to pour myself a glass of wine and lock myself in a room at the beginning, but then after doing this for first few times it just became a natural thing to do, and now don't have any fear of the phone.
I do lots of fairs/events etc and this is the way forward, but you also have to approach people and talk to people, which again can take some people out of their comfort zone.
If you want to succeed in this business you need to talk to people, and always contact your customers and let them know what offers are available, they will not come knocking on your door (rarely anyway lol).
Time, effort and determination and you will succeed in this business.:beer:I get paid to party!:rotfl:0 -

Absolutely right Candlegirl . With making business calls my wife used to work in a bank and was used to speaking on the phone , but she still shuts the door and i'm not allowed to listen to her lol , otherwise she gets very nervous. If a party goes down/cancels , she spends the evening she would have done that party making business calls ( all those prize draw slips from stalls and events ), and often books a party or two , which replaces the one thats cancelled , though sometimes she can spend all evening and get nothing , but has still maintained her relationship with her customers , its a numbers game , the more you do it , the more success you will get
Over the past year I have come to the following conclusion
This business is all about building RELATIONSHIPS , finding a common ground by being interested in people . If you want to build up a rapport with customers ask them about themselves , what do they do etc . People love to talk about themselves as it's an easy subject for them and automatically puts them at ease . Then afterwards ask them about a party as they are then in a different mindset . Why not ring the hostess/ guests a few days after the party to see if they are happy with the goods? Ask them for some honest feedback as to how the party went as you want to improve on the service that you give .
People buy People not just the products , you are the ticket , and they are buying the "experience" of you demonstrating and doing their party . Start to look at it from the customers experience . Are you positive?, proffessional? , smartly dressed?, Fun? , able to answer their questions? . Offer a speedy and quality service ? These are all things we look for when we go shopping ourselves . How many times have you shopped somewhere and never bought anything else because of the poor experience ( even though you liked the product that you bought? )
For anyone who lacks confidence , there are lots of self development books which can really help ( some of the paul Mckenna ones spring to mind , for eg "how to change you life in 7 days") .0 -
Candlegirl i'm back on
Don't know why i couldn't remember my password before. I'll let you know of my bargains very soon x
