Our canteen charges around 2-5 quid for lunch. I reckon I spend around 3 quid on average.

However I recently bought a tiffin carrier which enabled me to have my leftovers from dinner for lunch. So I reckon over the course of the working week, I pay less that 2 quid for lunch!

Very little, as I'm at home and we'll use whatever's leftover in the fridge. We have eight in the house - two adults and six children, including one hungry teen and a baby. I usually double any recipe that makes four servings - the younger kids don't eat a full adult portion and the baby is exclusively breastfed so there's usually leftovers. What isn't eaten for dinner gets used by the rest of us for lunches. Other half takes a portion to work (he'll get the kit for Christmas if I win - more money-saving! LOL) and the rest of us eat here. I might add bread or whatever's appropriate if it's not quite enough.
  • my packed lunches costs about £1 too, which seems around the norm on here so am pleased with that although with the weather turning colder I like some of the ideas on here to take leftovers which now I have use of a mircowave will help thanks, Shell

About £1? Leftovers are my favourite but sometimes sandwiches are the only option. I HATE having to buy at the work canteen - it just makes me grind my teeth thinking about how horrible and expensive it is.
    That money talks - I can't deny,
I heard it once - it said 'goodbye'!
  • I actually spend very little on lunch now as I keep a box of porridge oats at work and make that up with water each day. Then its just a case of buying some fruit each Monday to have some of each day. Cheap, healthy and doesn't need any preparation at home before hand! Plus, if I do get asked out for lunch there's nothing to go to waste as the oats will wait for another day! :T
  • I have just got into making my own soups and would love a flask etc to take them into work with me and have for lunch! I have a real habit of just buying my lunch in work as opposed to taking what I have made with me! This is a real waste as it means not only do I not get through all my soup at tea-time before it goes off but that I end up spending money I don't need to in the canteen! I think this lunchbox might just give me the encouragement I need to break this bad habit!
  • I spend about £2-£3 on lunches
  • Lunch is usually HM soup and a slice of bread or a roll at home, so prob around £1
