I love the lovefoodhatewaste website and have picked up loads if useful tips.
We are a family of 3 and I always cook enough for 4 so that my husband and I can share the 4th portion for lunch the next day. As I try to budget £1 per head for dinner, I guess our lunches average out about 50p!

Would love to win the lunch kit - the flask would be superhandy for the home made soup!
  • I think on average, I spend about £4.20 a day buying lunch.

I would LOVE one of these food kits - might get me sorted out to make lunch at home!!!
  • I'm a teacher, so 4 days a week I have free skool dinners. The other days I probably spend about a fiver. Then it's Sunday lunch at my mother in law's - no cash paid, but I pay in other ways!!!! Anyway, my total expendature over the course of the week works out at 70p a day.
  • I must spend at least £3.50 a day, really need to start bringing my own!!!

I spend about £6 for lunch. I definitely try to spend under £10 for lunch.

  • I was buying a bottle of pop, a packet of crisps and a jacket potato every day fully loaded with melted cheese and butter . It was yummy but was costing me nearly £4 per day so due to the credit crunch and my waist line I am now recycling my pop bottle and filling it up with squash. I don't buy crisps now and instead make lots of pasta and take it to work.
    A round of applause please???
  • hi I usually use what ever is in the fridge from the night before and just make a sandwich
