  • I spend about £3 a day on lunch. I always have good intentions of bringing mine in from home, but I'm never organised enough. I want to be inspired!

    £3.00 per day
  • I'd love one, taking my lunch in a carrier bag from the supermarket at the moment.....

I never spend more than £3, and that would only be if i bought a sandwich etc because I'd forgetton to take something in with me. Normally much less because I try to bring things in from home or use leftovers....
  • I spend probably about £1 - £1.50 a day on average because I take my own food that I prepare at home before going to work.
  • I spend an average of £1.50 - sometimes bring my own packed lunch.

I spend about £1-2 if it's homemade, ie sandwiches, snacks and fruit, but about £10 if eating out.

  • I take my own lunch most days so probably no more than £1.50 per day.
  • The marginal cost of my lunches is free! As a student in a house we buy food in communally and its there whether I make a packed lunch or not.

I suppose the value of the food would be about 40p (if that); we have a breadmaker (really easy to use and so much tastier and cheaper than supermarket cardboard) and apples are pretty cheap at the moment.

Nothing beats jam sandwiches for price, but for a bit of variety a few slices of cheese will do (from Lidl of course!).

Stay away from the £4 bought lunches (sandwiches ~£2, drink £1.50 + cakes, fruit etc.), and make them at home - you'll save a fortune!

If I have to buy a lunch from a supermarket, I go past the designated "lunches" section and into the store. For the same price as two small sandwiches in the pre-packed section I can buy a pack of rolls and some choice slices of meat from the deli counter; and choose the best fruit. Think laterally and be rewarded!
  • I probably spend around £1 per day at most as I try and bring a packed lunch to work every day :D
