  • Started to complete the Accucard application and got as far as selecting my card preference - confusing or what?  No mention of the 0% balance transfer on any of the three options therefore gave it up as a bad job!

    Mr B
On the Accucard home page, it clearly says 0% on balance transfers for 6 months
    Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
    Mortgage July 2007 - £0
Original Mortgage Termination Date - Nov 2018
    Mortgage Interest saved - £63790.60
    ISA Profit since Jan 1st 2015 - 98.2% (updated 1 Dec 2020)
  • The point is - you get the 0% BT regardless of what other parameters you choose.

The parameters are only really valid if you go on to use the card for purchases in the future, so keep the annual fee down to zero and set the cashback to max.

  • Many of these cards are actually offered through Lloyds - Accucard, MoreThan, Scottish Widows and LloydsCreate to name but 4, so you're unlikely to get them all and bag all £90.
Unlikely is optimistic. They really don't like offering more than one card to the same person - I asked for the More Than card while I still had an Accucard and they struggled to get their heads round it.

They did eventually agree to it but only after phoning them up and badgering them - their website initially said that they would get back to me within 7 days (which they didn't).

I had a similar problem with Lloyds. I was accepted for a Texaco card (run by accucard - lloyds) and then applied for a Lloyds card and was refused even though I bank there.
    I'm married now! Yippee!

As part of their Advent Calendar promotion, for today only Rpoints have increased the cashback on their Accucard promotion to £20. Details here.

Cahoot has now been added to the offer list: £10 cashback when accepted. Cahoot is one of the few credit cards left that treat balance transfers as purchases - up to 46 interest-free days on each BT.

    Details here

But to do Cahoot BT, you have to send them the bill you want paying with payslip etc. Which is ok so long as you hvae allowed time for postage etc.

True but (for Cahoot) they are extremely efficient at BTs. If I post first class on a Monday, the BT will invariably have been carried out by the Wednesday and the other card paid off by the following Monday. It's worked like clockwork for the past two years - you just need to be organised.
