My local Sainburys has a 256 mp MP3 for £19.99, its plain black and has a 1 line display and plugs right in to the USB port. The only thing is that I can't seem to find the brand anywhere else
On the box, it says it a 'TVF Audio' and looks kinda likethis but in black

Ebay is probably your best bet here. There are lots of sellers (some with 3000+ positive feedback) selling MP3 players for not much money. I got a 512MB one the other day for £24 (including p&p). There are cheaper ones - I'd go for 256MB if possible, but 128MB ones (25 songs or so) going for £10 ... at that price, you shouldn't be too worried about it being lost.
