Radiator types / supplier recommedations

Have decided to replace most of my central heating myself, after being let down many many times

I will get someone in to do the final installation/fix and testing

Can anyone recommend a radiator supplier and/or manufacturer, have looked at the usual B&Q, wickes etc, and wasnt too impreseed

I'm after 5 standard radiators, 2 vertical radiators and a bathroom towel radiator

Also, on another note, when i have used online BTU calculators, i have noticed a huge difference between different web sites, for example, a 4.5x3.5m kitchen/diner, i have been given figures ranging from 3600- 6800 BTUs.

i have used radcalcs.com on many recommendations

Thanks

    We bought ours from mrcentralheating.com
Had to replace one with a smaller one and they did that with no problem and no extra charge, our experience was good.

We got column ones, and they look really good. They have a modern edge to them and look much nicer than standard rads.

I've used screwfix, they're fair, but thenI've used Wickes as well. Why don't you like Wickes? (and I can suggest alternatives)

Our plumber recommended Purno ones which seem fine (they've only been in 4 months) - his suggestion was to go for the double radiator but with just the single convector which makes them nice and slimline whilst still pretty good on power output. In the end the kitchen one had to be a double with double convector to get the power output but all the others are fine as he suggested. Nice clean lines with boxing in on the ends and a grille on the top. They also hang nice and close to the wall - great for space saving but I guess not so good if you like tucking clothes down the back when drying them!.
