Remove the horrible pebble dash and have it rendered! (whoever thought pebble dash looked nice?)
Thats if the damp is being caused by penetration. Is the guttering ok?
Is it condensation inside? Has the damp course been bridged? IS the pebble dash finish cracked?
If the pebble dash extends to the floor this could be the problem, breaching the damp course.0 -
its made of a prefab concrete not bricks so dnt think it has a damp course,,i dnt think its riseing damp as the problem is only upstairs...yep did check the guttering & thats all clear...i had the the end recemented where the tiles sit so dnt think its coming in from there..also had roof vents put in to stop any condinsation in the loft.. i know water can travel in strange ways but im starting to scratch my head now & just trying to cover all angles0

We have a pebbledash render on the first floor and had some damp issues with it a couple of years ago. We considered a re-rendering it, silicone type products etc but an independent damp expert we had round suggested that a good coat of dulux weathershield would do the trick - after that it was much better last winter, although still not perfect.
I think half the problem is condensation which won't be cured by any waterproof coating.0 -
Any damp inside can not get out. concrete render is a slip, like a sheet of glass. pebbledash is also sooooo 60's. you need a decopierre man in your area. Lime based, breathable and self coloured. Being block, there may be no insulation either (or cavity), they can add 2" insulation and then coat it. maybe seach them on google or youtube.0
