I have today joined my local credit union after been fed up with the HSBC crocks. I may gradually move my stuff over to it.
I was not given much information. The site http://www.thccu.co.uk does not contain much and all I got was very mininal written information when I joined. Does anyone know how I can get more information?

You can obtain some general information from the Association of British Credit Unions website.0

Thank you. I have learned a lot from the websites of other credit unions.0

Trust you know what you're doing? Wouldn't inspire much confidence in me when their Home page is a couple of years out of date :The Credit Union delivers its service from three branches and is planning to open another branch office in 2006/7.
.... and several of the links are broken. But I suppose it's a face to face enterprise? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
I only put in a fiver. I won't put much money in until I am sure plus they are protected up to £50,000 so it should be alright.0

They also have the US Dollar in a lot of their flash branding on the site.
Whatever works for you, I guess...What would William Shatner do?0 -
They are far more helpful at the branch level. I will be raising a lot of those issues at the AGM.0

Due to Credut Union rules you would never be able to save anywhere near this amount with them anyway. All Credit Unions report to the FSA and savings are secure. The rules are quite simple so maybe that's why the leaflet you were given seemed a bit basic and short of info'. The rules do vary from one branch of a Credit Union to another.I only put in a fiver. I'm sure some-one at your local cashpoint will be more than happy to help you.0 -
