Faulty Gucci Shoes

I received a pair of Gucci ladies shoes as a gift back in July.

Just 3months later, after only wearing them a few times the bottoms of the heels are damaged, the fabric has lifted up, and they now make that annoying metal clicking sound when i wear them. The front of the shoes have already start to scuff.

Am i within my rights to take them back to Selfridges and ask for an exchange under consumer law - sales of good act - that they are not of satisfactory quality, and that products must last a reasonable amount of time, as 3months for Gucci shoes is a bit ridiculous!

Strictly speaking, no. They should be taken back by whoever bought them but of course, if YOU have the receipt....:rotfl:

The purchaser has rights under the sales of goods act, but the shop will definitely want proof of purchase.
I always keep receipts for gifts and the purchaser may have a credit card statement also even if they have lost the recipt.
