We use Fairy non-bio (no fabric conditioner) for usual washes with baby/toddler clothes in, but Daz for DH's white work shirts, muslins and any clothes stained by the 5m old's poo or the 23m old's beans/spaghetti hoops etc.

Not only referring to baby clothes here, but general washing.
We stopped using Lenor/Comfort or similar long ago.
Not only does it make clothes "floppy" but as proved in towelling, prevents absorbtion of water. It seems to coat the fabric in an almost waterproof way.

Wash the way the experienced Mums such as nadnad have suggested, just don't imho, use softener.
    As for ironing baby clothes!

Mum, you'll be far too busy cuddling to care, besides all creases fall out on wearing.
    Relax and enjoy.

I always use non bio. If something is a bit pooey I use bio in the prewash. Ironing your baby's clothes is a lovely thing to do before they are born when you are nesting. Don't bother once the baby is here, you'll have far more important things to do. Babies are only tiny once.
  • I have always used Non-Bio for my daughter up until recently now she is 3 i just use the same for us all, i find it strange that everyone says don't iron babies clothes though  my aunt never irons my cousins clothes, in my opinion why put them in nice pretty clothes if they are unironed?

I do agree some things don't need ironing, i have also spent time hand washing my daughters clothes when she was small and leaving them to dry on their own and some didnt need ironing but i always preferred to iron them all in one go so i could just pick out what she would wear each day but maybe i'm just picky :)

P.S Good luck on the new arrival when the little one gets here!
