Any idea if these are good for back pain, knee pain or general arthritis/joint pain? I'm tempted to try one.0

No one seems to pointed out that research into these machines shows the pain relief given by these machines is equal to the placebo effect- but I suppose the lack of any scientific evidence that these machines work is irrelevant to some people.

For every argument against tens machines working, there are as many(if not more) that will prove there benefits. There are arguments about all types of "alternative" pain relief including accupuncture. If it helps, it doesn't matter how or why. Drug companies will argue that they don't work because of course they want you to purchase their products. Many people cannot or will not take painkilling drugs but many (including myself) use tens machines to ease their pain. Of course, there are different types of machine on the market & I would suggest that you do your research before buying. I am currently under a musculoskeletal consultant & physiotherapist who both recommend tens as a form of pain management & infact my physio has one in the clinic which she has used on me from time to time which is much more powerful than the commercially available ones. They are not a cure, they are just for managing the pain. Personally, I would buy the best you can afford.
I've googled tens machine research but cannot find anything referring to the placebo effect. Could you post a link please?0
