  • Has anyone used a Tens machine, are they any good ? I got one a few years ago, it's still in the box unused.

Different people have different responses to these.

My wife tried it during last stage of pregnancy but found it made very little difference. But she had friends who found that it did help.

Basically, you won't know how good it will be for you until you try it.

i have heard they are very good but my personal experience it was not good at all - I think I just had a faulty machine but it would not work at all, so I would recommend testing it as soon as you get it to be sure!

my partner has sciatica, and it works for this its a 2 channel one so can do two places at once!. a half hour on this everyday really seems to help.
most of the problems where it doesnt work on people is that they have it placed on the wrong areas.
not sure if still on , when we bought it, we could get half price pack of batteries and extra gellpads .

I've had one for about 5 years(cost over £60 at the time) since I suffered back injuries in a car accident. I wouldn't be without one now & it's travelled all over the world with me. It's helped me enormously over the years.

I'm not sure if these are the same ones that they had on sale a few months ago but if so they are not the ones that are suitable for use during pregnancy, as I found out when I bought one and then read the leaflet inside

    Lloyds employee here. ;)

Right, Lloyds actually have three types of Tens on offer at the moment. The first is a single channel at £14.99. The second is a dual channel at £19.99, and the third is a dual channel with heated pads for £29.99. None of them are suitable for use during pregnancy.

I used a TENS during labour and it did nothing for me. Lots of people report real improvement with things like sciatica, arthritis, muscle strains, back injuries etc.
