two xbox consoles on xbox live fron one router?

My sons have an xbox which they currently share, but they both have seperate xbox live accounts. I would like to buy another xbox for my other son so he can play on xbox live in another room on another tv at the same time as his brother. Is this possible? Can you run two xbox consoles on xbox live at the same time from one internet connection? Also, does anyone know where the cheapest place to buy an extra long cable to go from the xbox into the back of the router? Currently we connect to xbox live with a cable from the xbox to the router and want to do the same with the new xbox.
