    Hi,
I have a few question, which may seem silly....

I have completed the CCCS Debt remedy booklet online and have gone for the DMP option. How long will it be before I receive documents to sign and send off? Also roughly how long will it be before it is all set up? I really want to get going with this now.

I have been in my current job for nearly 3 months and only have 2 pay slips, is this enough to prove my wage? I have also done lots of overtime recently but as this is not guaranteed i didnt include this in my earnings. Was that right? Will CCCS take this into account when they see my earnings are higher on my wage slip?

    Thanks very much in advance,

    Hello,

If your overtime is not guaranteed then it is better just to leave this off your budget and then make overpayments if you do get in some extra hours.

Debt Management Plans always start from the first of the month, so it would be the first of April your plan would start – that is as long as all the information we get back is ok.

For your March payment, you would just need to pay them what you can as a goodwill gesture payment. There will be a letter in your pack called “notification of debt management plan” you could send the payment with this.

Hope this helps and goof luck with your plan!

  • Hi, i have completed a budget with cccs today and opted for the plan where you take one payment and pay my creditors. I have contacted my mortgage company tonight and they have offered to add my £480.00 arrears with them to the end of my mortgage. They said the mortgage will ncrease by a couple of pounds a month. Do you think this is a good thing to do?
    thanks
    Success so far:- Bank charges-
    Lloyds TSB : refund £945.00
    Halifax : refund £1400.00
    for my mum-Lloyds TSB : £7400.00:beer:
    PPI-
    Santander : refund £679.45
  • Hi,

I have recently set up my DMP with yourselves and have made my first payment. One of my creditors is RBS. I have a loan with them.
I have had a letter from them accepting my DMP and lower payments aand that it was going to another area Triton i assume. They put the address in the letter and i let CCCS know. They said it was usual for them to pass it to this area.
I have now had a letter from yourselves saying that they are not accepting the reduced payment, because query exists on the client budget.

I am now a little worried i thought it was all going well. Is this the norm for them to do an about turn like this, and should i contact them in anyway to rectify this.

    Many thanks
  • Hi

Do I need to change my bank when I do a DMP. Reason I am asking is my parents have a isa bond in my bank under my name and they have no idea what debt I am in. (and I cant tell them and I wont) it would make them ill.

So was wondering can I do a DMP for just the credit cards, not the over draft on the bank??

Also can I just ask one credit card company to stop the interest or do I have to contact them all (five) as I have completed a payment plan and want the highest credit card to lower the interest but have made two calls and been told no.

Any advice on the above would be lovely.

    thanks

    Nicola

    Hello,

Without seeing your budget I can’t give specific answers. One thing to take into account is if you add the arrears onto the end of the agreement you will be paying the interest over the term, so if you already have an agreement in place that they are happy with you could just stick to this and then once your mortgage arrears are cleared add this money to your dmp.

If you would like to discuss this in more detail then please give the CCCS a call.

  • Hi, couple of questions if you dont mind. I'm at a point now where every penny I have goes to creditors, ive been in arrears for the last 12 months with no chance of catching up and the payments are less than the interest and charges.

I am self employed so just wondered how income is worked out?, ofcourse the idea is to keep your earnings as low as possible(by declaring all expenses) however on paper this shows very little profit despite the fact i'm currently paying over £500 a month out to creditors alone before rent and other expenses. However I cant afford this much as its often a choice between buying stock/posting customers orders or paying a creditor on time.

That brings me onto my second question, i'm now in a position where I am making more than I was 12 months ago, I am running a second smaller business which is currently pretty new but breaking even however I expect it to do well in the future providing ive got the money to keep things smooth. What would be the situation if I wanted to make a lump sum towards what was owed in the future or maybe up the payments? I gather DMPs are more flexible than IVA's and with £20k owed i'd probably be paying a similar amount back on both(providing the creditors froze the interest).

Sorry if thats confusing, just assessing my position at the moment. Thanks. :)

    Hi Gabriella,

I would say give our client support department a call so they can take a look at your budget and chat over the budget with you, it maybe something or nothing but I can’t say without seeing your budget.

    Hi Nicola,

For a Debt Management Plan with the CCCS, your account would need to be changed before the plan starts and if you were making reduced payments it would put the ISA as risk as the creditors have the right to offset accounts.

I would recommend you call CCCS as soon as possible to discuss this.
