Hi, I completed my DMP online yesterday and sent it off but I didn't download the booklet and would like to know where I can get it another one from please.
Thanks0 -
Just after a bit of advice. My husband is self employed and I am a student. Just want to know really where we stand for debt help due to the fact he is self employed? We have debts (between us) of just short of £26k and are really struggling to pay.0

Hi There,
Just desperatley after some advice please. We have recently faced up to our debt problem which was fast spiralling out of control. We have a meeting with CAB in Oct to take advice on what to do.
This month however my husband has discovered he can't financially manage the minimum payment on his cc (min £200 bal £9,0000) this has never happened before.
He rang to explain the situation and that we we're seeking advice with CAB and offered to pay £50 but they we're very unwilling to help (obviously) just wondered where we should go from here?should we put something in writing to them? I dont want him to just 'not pay it' We dont know what to do as never been in this position before.
We know its our debt and we will do everything we can to pay it back somehow but this month the money has gone out to pay bills etc and for the first time its left us unable to pay a bill..any advice would be gratefully recieved.
Many thanks in advance0 -
Hi all, wrote to lloyds tsb stating that i was presuing a bank charges claim. send my CCCS budget sheet along with a covering letter, got a responce back saying that it has been refered to the collections dpt.
They also said that they couldent look at bank charges but a reduced payment into my overdraft but are investagiting, my debts are from many creditors alough CCCS are dealing with them now.
Been told to close my savings account which my wages go into with lloyds tsb and open a current account with another bank (which I dont want to do), just want a savngs account so i cant go overdrawn or incur charges again.
Just wondering what to do about my bank charges and accounts
Thanks Richard0 -

If you're referring to the process of setting up a DMP, it's normally about a week or so once you've sent back the documentation. This may vary depending on how busy we are, but we look to start the DMP for the 1st of the following month. So depending on when you had your appointment/used Debt Remedy, this should give you an indication of timescales.
Hope this helps,
Matthew.
Hi Matthew
Thank you for the reply.
CCCS have been in contact with my creditors as i have has a few letters now ( came yesterday in the post )- one acceptance and one saying no way !! But as yet i haven't had any paperwork from CCCS apart from the inital stuff after i did the debt remedy online ( DMP notifiaction template letter etc). I want to start my DMP 01.10.09 . Should i be worried that i haven't had anything of the CCCS direct or should i just expect something soon and stop stressing about it. I know i am a bit keen but i just want to make sure that everything is ok and organised ready for the 01.10.09. P
Also should i be forwarding copies of the letters i have received from my creditors ( accepting the repayment plan or not)- do you need to see these
Thanks

Hi there.
We can still help with your situation if your partner is self-employed. Debt Remedy isn't suitable for the self-employed, so you'll need to call our helpline on 0800 138 1111 and an advisor can get you booked in for an appointment with a counsellor.
Cheers,

Hi there,
I'm afaird this isn't something we can answer via the forum. This would be discussed on your appointment with your counsellor, or suggestions will be made on Debt Remedy if you choose to do it online.
