Hi still have debts to clear  working towards a DFL my family have grown over the last 2 years I very proud to say I now have 3 beautiful Grandchildren :T My DF fight continues :):):):):)
  • Hi there, my flatmate is currently in a dmp with Chase Saunders. She currently pays them £300 every month, and has been with them for a year. At the beginnng she was told it would take 7 years to clear. They called this weekend and suggested she go into an iva as she still has at least 7 years left to pay! I cant help but think she is being conned with this company - is it possible to have a new dmp with another organisation once one has already begun?

    Hi there, thanks for posting.

It might be worth moving this post to the reclaiming bank charges board as the folk on there may have better advice as far as claiming charges are concerned.

As far as Cabot are concerned what were the charges for? Were they registered for late payments?

    Matthew.

Hi thanks for the reply, charges were for a period were i couldn't make any payments, I had help from C.B and notifid Cabot asap. The debt was for a credit card. Did speak to someone from cccs about this, who said again it was up to Cabot to charge or not, and as yet there is no test case about such a matter. So unlike credit card or bank charges there is no presitdent set yet. I'm just unhappy that i've repaid more than the oridginal debt, and there seems to be nothing i can do about it!
  • Hi there.

Once we've recieved the information we will start to send the proposals off to the creditors pretty much straight away as we aim to start a DMP for the start of the following month.

Transferring any money out of your existing account would be a good idea to ensure you protect what money you have to pay your priorities until the DMP is up and running. Then you can transfer it all into your new account when that has been set up.

    Hope this helps,
    Matthew.

Many thanks for that Matthew. Money will be moved out of my account tonight! One other question - I assume my DMP will be set to start on 1st May. However, I would rather it start on 1st June, the only reason being that I didn't cancel some of my DDs in time before they paid out. Where do I stand on this?

    Cheers.

    Hi

I have been receiving Incapacity Benefit, Income Support (with corresponding Housing and Council Tax Benefits) and Disability Living Allowance for approximately one year. I am still not fit enough (a number of different medical reasons) to return to work and the local council I was working for dismissed me in February 2009, in line with their sick leave procedure.

I currently have a DMP in place with CCCS ( a review of my budget has just been conducted and I will be paying £135 from June 2009 - up from £107).

In July 2005 I had a road traffic accident for which I claimed compensation and I am about to receive a substantial amount of money (the counter offer put in by my solicitor has been accepted). I wish to use the bulk of this money to pay for gastric band surgery (privately) as this will go a long way to returning me to full health and enable my return to work late this year/early next year.

I know I have to advise the DWP of any change in circumstances. My solicitor has advised that there is a 12 month period of grace from receipt of my personal injury award when the award will not be considered in assessing my entitlement to benefits.

What does this mean for my DMP? The surgery is not for aesthetic but health reasons and I believe it is a necessity in order to get me back to work. Once I have paid for this there will be a small amount of money left over which I would like to put into my savings account. Am I obliged to pay this towards my debts?

I would be grateful for some generic advice before I receive this payout, when I will contact both the DWP and CCCS.

    Regards

    Tricia

    Hi Tricia,

If there is any money left over this should be paid towards the debs, as the aim of the plan is to get your debts paid off as soon as possible. Depending on how much you have left and the amount of debts you have, you could look at offering your creditors a full and final settlement. This is a way of clearing the debts at a reduced amount. If you would like further information on this, call client support and they will be happy to help and send you information.

    Hi Rachael,

We should be able to track down the payments for you as it will all be logged on our systems where the money has gone. I’m not 100% sure what will happen then as I don’t work on that department, however if you call client support they will be able to give you more information.

It shouldn’t be a problem, just call the number in your pack and let them know. With regards your May payments, you would just need to pay all your creditors a token payment as a goodwill gesture – this can be however much you feel you can afford.

  • Hi, i have a joint loan with my partner from citifinancial. A colleague of mine advised that she had a loan with them when they were previously known as the associates. She wanted a settlement figure and was given one with all future interest added. when challenged they reduced the figure, she paid and then still received a cheque back after they advised that she was entitled to a refund?!Today i have requested a settlement figure and the same has happened to me, they have quoted me with future interest, even though i specifically asked for a figure as if i was paying off in full today. How can i find out what i truly owe and get rid of this extortionate debt that causes me so much bother?
    Many thanks
  • My debts have become uncontrollable, I have 1 loan with Barclays for 3,500 a loan with welcome home finance where the balance is 5500, equidebt 1313 and harvey & thompson 681 and 2 pay day loans which total 2000, the pay day loans are the reason I have lost the ability to control them. I have spoken with Pay Plan who are happy to help, they have said I can pay them 265 per month, I was previously paying 243 just to welcome finance per month, which gibes me reason to believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have spoken with my account manager at w/finance today who advised I should not go with pay plan as they wont stop the interest with there loan so will be paying for the next 20 yrs.. they have said they can lower my mothly payments over a longer period, but the pay day loans are about 250 a month interest I really dont know what to do for the best
