lloydstsb have stopped my overdraft

hi
We are in dire straits.
we have got a claim on hold with lloydstsb

Our current account had an overdraft limit of £900. we are in it and can't afford to pay it off each month.
We are keeping it like this waiting for the results of the bank charges.
As of today they have taken that facility and we are now £861 over the now non overdraft and it will now incur £20 a day charges.
We have rung them and have been told there is nothing that they can do about it and we should contact citizens advice because they have declined a credit check.
We don't know what to do.
Can we now file for hardship and how do i go about doing this urgently, re--phone numbers.
Is there anybody who has either just been put in a similar situation oranybody that knows how to help
thanks
lou and tim

  • I think I need to add this info just so you guys are aware.

I got a call from someone who said he was Darren Phillips at Lloyds TSB on 08456006283. He asked for some basic security information from me (postcode, date of birth, etc) to 'prove' it was me, but I explained I don't give out personal information like that to callers without them first proving who THEY are! (The banks teach us to do this!) He suggested I call HIM on 08456006283 but as I had no way on confirming whether that was Lloyds TSB's number, I said no.

He said he'd put a note on my account to say he'd called and I then rang Lloyds TSB (using the numbers I knew were correct) ... they said they was no record of a call from him at all!

They also confirmed my accounts with perfectly in order.

He really SOUNDED as if he was OK but as he said he couldn't even write to me instead, I was very suspicious. What bank would refuse to write a letter if they wanted to contact you?

The Bank told me to ignore his call but suggested I call into my branch tomorrow just in case he HAD updated THEIR system (apparently the Bank don't have access to the branch's own network) in which case, perhaps, I could find out more.

All sounds very dodgy to me!
