Hi,
We upgraded to sky+ several months ago. At the time we didn't want sky in another room as we didn't want to pay an extra £10 a month. We kept the old sky box though.
We now need to put tv in another downstairs room but there is no usable ariel to plug it into. How do we go about connecting the old box to the new dish? Is there a one off payment to sky so we can use it as freeview without paying £10 a month?
I don't want to defraud anyone here, just asking how we go about it really.
Hope someone can help

if the dish has a quad lnb just connect a wire from that to the new box, if not, get a quad from ebay for around £15 and DIY.
You need to look at the dish to see, on the end of the 'arm' is the lnb, it should have 2 wires connected (sky+), and another 2 spare connections.
the connectors you'll need are called "F Connectors"Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Hi,
Is there a one off payment to sky so we can use it as freeview without paying £10 a month?
No, you will get lot's of free channels on Sky " not " Freeview " though, that is a different system to Sky.
If you wish to view Ch 4, Ch5's and Sky 3, you will need to either pay Sky a one off payment of £20 ( FreesatfromSky ) or use an ex-subscription Sky Card, which will work exactly the same.
All other free channels do not require a card.0
