health and safety gone mad. it's ok to stand a few feet from a massive pile of burning wood, but not to hold a sparkler??0

these places have to get insurance for events like this and im sure because of compo culture u aint allowed, i get your point, but i can see why they r going down the safe route, and im far from pc! xxx#JusticeForGrenfell0

Does seem a shame that a few idiot teenagers who might mess around with sparklers can spoil it for the kids who are sensible and safe with them.Life is all about the journey.0

can understand why no sparklers as one we were at 2 years ago with dh's work, the teenagers were throwing them around and putting them in faces of younger kids, while i love sparklers, they should only be used with the right supervision.0

We saw unaccompanied teenagers behaving like that with sparklers at the display we went to last night, but I think the answer must be to rule 'no unaccompanied teenagers' rather than no sparklers which properly behaved young kids really enjoy. Political correctness goes mad sometimes. But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!0

There was an item on our local news today about a British Legion poppy stall that's been in the same place for over 50 years, and has been moved by the local council for health & safety reasons. They reckon they're losing hundreds of pounds a day because they've been shoved out of the way round a corner. News were interviewing people who couldn't find the stall
Good news for me though - after winning a grand total of 2 x £1 prizes since Sept 1st, I've had a wem & 2 prizes just turn up today. Had thought about giving up comping at end of Nov, but will prob carry on nowAl Mac Appreciation Society (AMAS) member # 6½
