Im going for a guided needle biopsy tomorrow on thyroid nodule, getting uptight now, very scared.
anyone had one on the neck?

yes ive had one and its not as scary as you think relax and it will be over before you know it,

how long does the procedure take?
I have to get x-ray & a wire put in to show the pathologist where to pt ineedle

I haven't had this procedure done Redbull but I have had other unpleasant things done and know all too well what you mean about feeling uptight. My trick is to focus on what will happen after the event if I'm facing something unpleasant. Approach it as a necessary obstacle that you will conquer and keep thinking about how you will feel afterwards, the relief and the realisation that it wasn't as bad as you thought. During it, focus on your trip home, opening your door and being back in a safe and comfortable place. If you can picture that and hold on to it, it can help get you through the rough parts tomorrow when you have to be calm.

I really hope you don't feel too uncomfortable tomorrow and remember thousands have been through it and come out the other side. Believe what Bella said above. She knows what she's talking about.

I'm sure all will go well tomorrow but I'll be thinking of you. Please let us know how you got on.

sorry i was snapping,you will feel a little acward but they will talk you through it and it honestly dont sound as bad as it is, you need approx 2hours and its also good to take a book to help you relax,good luck will be thinking of you
