18185 not working today?

Everytime I'm trying to use it it's going straight through to the numbers without me hearing the rate. Is anyone else getting this today?

No, working perfectly here in north Essex.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Hmm, I live in London so it's close enough.

Am I right in thinking 1899 is the same company as 18185?

This happens if the call is answered very quickly, even automatically, without giving 18185 the opportunity to play the message.

Do you use BT as your calls provider? If not it is possible that your provider has blocked 18185 access and the call is going straight through on their network.
