Cheap stuff all the way - 12 rolls for just over a pound. When we used expensive loo roll, we ende up with a drain rod adventure ...

if you squish (technical term ) the loo roll before putting it on the holder, it doesnt spin around so easily/fast so most people use less

It does if you unsquish it - can you tell that this little battle has been going on for quite a while in our house?

Thanks again all, I spoke to him this evening and said he'll have to bath either morning or evening from now on as the bill was horrific. (Huge white lie , bill hasn't come in yet but the meter's turning at an alarming rate). Told him the water will only be heated overnight and he was fine with it. Now I just have to dig out the time switch and work out where it goes :rolleyes:

Yup, I've tried squishing the loo roll but it made no difference. From now on it's the cheapo emery paper for him, softee for me...can just see meself creeping furtively along the landing with a sheet or two of kind-to-yer-bmm screwed up in my hand :cool:

A few more smaller issues I need to iron out - gosh taking a lodger isn't straightforward is it? - but as this is the utilities board I'll just nip over to somewhere more appropriate. Ta muchly everyone :A
