I'm not sure about how extensive their range of fittings are. They're more a bespoke company and make sections for you from good solid wood. I used a B&Q booklet to work out what fittings i needed and Victor designed the wardrobe for my needs.

Regarding the bedside units, i needed one to have a false drawer at the top. He made it with a drawer front and a section cut in the side of the unit for a digi box and things to sit in, with a hole at the back for plugs to go through.

Use your ikea book to describe to him what you need and he'll get it made for you. Give him a phone, he'll come to your house and work your ideas out for you;)

Those fitting from ikea/B&Q etc are a good source to work from, but they won't be as sturdy as Victor will make them. When i looked through the B&Q booklet, nothing actually was the right size for me, plus it ended up more expensive than what Victor's price was.

    hope that helps;)

Fantastic I will definitely be having a chat with him once DH finally gets paid :)
  • I've just moved into a house that has sliding wardrobes fitted by Sliderobes. One of the doors is a bit dodgy, I can't afford Sliderobes to fix so does anyone know where I can get replacement parts?

    Sliderobes are seriously expensive.

Have you tried pricing the equivalent from Starplan? We have other furniture that has lasted the test of time from them. Best to have a look in their showroom first with some measurements. They normally fit everything themselves too.

You wouldn't want a flimsy alternative or one that won't last but I couldn't pay the money that Sliderobes ask for.
  • Where abouts are you? There are a few fitters of bedroom furniture that might be able to do the job a bit cheaper. I can think of a couple in the Armagh area, but I don't know if you're close to there.
  • Hello - I had 2 Sliderobe wardrobes fitted, both around 4m width. The cost was around £10k last year.

My advice - DON'T GO THERE. Very expensive for the product, workmanship so-so and service levels evaporate once they've taken your dosh (and something needs fixing). Neighbour had similar wardrobes fitted by small local firm for around £2k...

Based in Fermanagh but will travel to give you a quote

Will be far cheaper than Starplan and a much higher quality of workmanship!

Bringing this thread back to life. We got plans drawn up on a visit to StarPlan at the weekend and I've forwarded them to a few different places for quotes. Some mentioned above but has anyone ever used Gliderobesni?

Can anyone recommend anyone they have used recently? Ideally don't want to spend a fortune.
