Is anyone else battling to loose weight for their big day
I thought we could have a support thread here
When is your big day ? How much would you like to loose ? Are you following a particular plan ?

I would love to lose weight for my wedding, I'm a size 18 and would like to lose anything but would love to be a 14 for my wedding. My dress is largely forgiving but its my arms I worry about. Also I'm pregnant and after the baby's born will only have four months to lose the weight I want to, obviously I can't lose it while pregnant but will keep active and eat the right things for myself and baby and try and tone my arms. I'm going to go for walks and swimming.
I also dread the thought of being huge in my pictures and having them serve as a constant reminder. I never seem to actually lose weight, I just seem to talk about it so I could do with the support of keep myself on the straight and narrow and whilst not losing weight now just with eating the right stuff. Good luck everyone!:A :

I'm trying too, joined Weightwatchers a couple of weeks ago and have lost 6lbs already.
As my wedding isnt until 5th nov 2010 I am aiming to have lost a good couple of stone by spring next year ready for dress trying on.0 -
i am also hoping to lose a bit of weight for my wedding next september. im a 12 /14, so dont want to lose a lot more, but really want to tone up as i dont want flabby arms in the photos lol!!
im not changing too much about my diet, just eating healthy home made food for dinner, although im still treating myself once a week to either dinner out or a takeaway. ive started bringing fruit salads and low fat yoghurts into work to avoid the temptation of choccy biccys, and have been making big pots of vegetable soup to freeze and have for lunch in work.
im also trying to do little things, like saying no to the biscuit with coffee when im at my mums, or having a big drink of juice when i feel the hunger pangs!!
im going swimming once a week, and walking a couple of times a week, but im trying to see it as a lifestyle change, as oppose to a diet and exercise regime, as as soon as i hear the word 'diet' i crave chocolate!!
also, im not denying myself anything in moderation, as i seem to end up binging on rubbish after starving myself of everything yummy after a few days!!
good luck everyone!!0 -
I've gone from 14 and a half stone to 12 stone 6 in the last five months, was size 16/18 and I am now size 14/16.
I would like to get to 11 stone for the wedding. We haven't set a date yet, but hoping for next year sometime.
I'm not following any particular diet, and I agree with Daleigha that you have to allow a few treats. I've been walking as my main exercise and I have a stepper machine and some weights for the winter, for when I'd rather be inside!0 -
I am getting married next March. Was fine with my weight until I was measured up for my dress recently by someone who was a size 8 - it led to one of those "I'm how big???" moments.
I am currently a 16/18 and would like to lose at least a stone, but preferably a stone and a half - which I think is realistic for the time frame I've got. I am going to be moving offices at the end of the month, so that means I will be within walking ditance of work, so that will help me (and save a bit of money too!). Also planning on taking up swimming again, as I used to really enjoy that and it is a good way of exercising.
Don't know if I can manage "beautiful" by the big day, but I would at least like to avoid feeling fat.“Money is not the most important thing in the world. Love is. Fortunately, I love money.”0 -
Not throwing a dampener on your thread, just wanted to say... I joined weight watchers when we booked our wedding and lost a stone... Then I had to stop going because I really couldn't afford the fiver a week... The result was, suddenly feeling 'free' of the weigh in... The stone went back on... I looked exactly the same on my wedding day as I did when my hubby fell in love with me. I'm wearing a size 24 wedding dress in my photo's but I don't look 'a state' in fact I think I look beautiful and I'm usually the first to hate a photo of myself!
What I'm saying is... Don't beat yourself up about it... He loves you anyway and every bride is beautiful!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I am a size 22 and thought that I 'needed' to be at least a size 16 for my wedding day (in 9 months time) but after I went dress shopping, I don't feel like I need to slim down, but I would still like to lose a bit of weight. One of the main area's I hate is my arms, yet when I tried on a dress, I just thought it all looked perfect and stopped stressing about what size I was.
Might sound like a simply suggestion, but underwear can be key to making a dress look even better if you are on the larger side like me. I have got a fully boned corset, which wasn't cheap but worth every penny. It gives me a nice smooth shape and curves in places I never knew existed! Worth the investment to make the dress look that much nicer.
If I could lose a couple of stone I would be happy, not just for the wedding, but just for my health in general. Lots of Wii Fit and arm weights is the way forward for me!0 -
Hi girls
