Just bought a new computer which has wireless network connection. I already have the computer set up as host for another guest computer via a crossover cable but can I now use the wireless connection to add another guest computer and if so what to I need for the guest computer
Hope that all makes sense

If you are running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (which I presume you are as it is a new computer), try using the Wireless Network Setup wizard. To get to this, go to Start, My Computer, then on the left-ba in "Other Places" click My Network Places. Then, again on the left bar, click "Set up a Wireless Network for a home or small office" (under Network Tasks)
I presume the other computer has a wireless adapter/card...

Tigermatt thank you. Sorry for being a bit thick but that is what I wanted to know, the other computer (i.e.guest) doesn't have a wireless adapter/card, can I just buy one or do they come in pairs? Would this be the best way to do it do you think and is it easy?
I already have a wired network, can I run a wireless one alongside or will it cause no end of problems?
Thanks in advanceI haven't got one!0 -
How many PCs do you have? If you have a few, then I would purchase a wireless router, which can connect to your Broadband connection (if you have Broadband) and also supply the Wireless and Wired networking. I have used many Netgear devices in the past and they are very reliable. I recommend having a Netgear DG834G - available from eBuyer for £65.23 inc. VAT. http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=52244
Or, failing that (or if you don't have Broadband), you can just purchase a Wireless Adapter (again from eBuyer). You can decide to have a USB device which means you don't have to open the computer to install anything, or you can have a PCI card which means you would need to open the PC and install it. ebuyer sell both.
PCI: (again Netgear) http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=13882155130&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=50127 or full eBuyer range of adapters: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=13882144247&action=UFNQcm9kdWN0U2VhcmNoUmVzdWx0cw==&subcat_uid=1019&order=ASC&order_col=sell_price&show=stock.

I hope this helps you - do post back if you have any queries or need info about this.
Thanks, tigermatt
