Thanks guys, I'll bear that in mind. I supposes its better being too long than too short though. I still can't decide which dress to go for but it seems that they work out slightly cheaper buying them through eBay than direct on their site. I presume there are no advantages of buying them off their site instead of ebay?

It is definatly better too long, I think it was a girl on yayw that had ordered her dress ad loved it but it was too short nd there was nothing that could be done to fix it - she was devestated :(

re ebay vs store i asked the same question here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1593123&highlight=

Boyzone thanks for your help with the colour swatch you made the perfect choice for me.

The more I look at your dress, the more I'm thinking I'd either like dark ivory or champagne, I can't wait for my colour swatches to arrive!!! Thanks again for sharing the piccies of your dress!

...Has anyone bought a dress in champagne and are happy to share their pics?? xx

Sexy Legs - Love the dress! Glad it's here and the pictures are great! Looking forward to seeing pics of the big day!

Eivissa - I'm thinking about ordering mine in Champagne as I'm probably going to get it from Milly and they don't do dark ivory but I'm not too sure if the champagne will go with my bridesmaids dresses! Oh, the dilemma!

  • Oh Dear, once again I have a dilemma!! I have had an email from Landy saying they can make my dress for £141, whereas with Milly it is £200. I really don't kno what to do now. Although I prefer Milly for their sending of pics while it is being made, I can't justify spending an extra £60 for the priviledge. Do you think Landy will email pics while they are making it, has anyone received pics at all? What would you do? Tiger x

    Hi Tiger,

I'm having a dress made from a photo by Landy (in silk - loads of beadwork). The price is $500 inc P&P. Milly quoted me the same, but were going to charge $70 P&P on top. I've had great email correspondance from Landy since I first enquired in January about the dress, and feel 100% confident they're going to make a fab job of it.
I think you have to go with how you feel - trust your instincts! It wasn't just that Landy were cheapest (but that helped), I just read so many positive things and saw a couple of very impressive dresses made by them.
    Best wishes,
    Hels

    Hello again you wonderful ladies

Can I ask your advise on how to get creases out of the wedding dress. Do I need to get it specially done somewhere but then will it get creased again while being transported in the car to the venu (3.5 hours drive).

The venue have said they will provide me with a steam iron and tea towel and that I can run a boiling hot shower and then hang the dress in the bathroom to steam the creases out the day before wedding.

    Any advice much appreciated.

    thanks

Do you have a wedding dress cover? You can get the ones with extra room at the bottom fo the skirt.

I would iron it, pt it in the bag and lay it over the top of everything else en route to the venue. It shouldn't get too crushed. And if the venue are going to provide you with an iron then that will take out any last minute creases.

    Tiger,

Landy are cheaper for both the dresses I like. One by only about £10 but theother one is £55 cheaper. I think if I get the one thats only £10 difference I'll just go with Milly as they are doing my bridesmaids and flower girls dress but if I go with the 2nd dress I'm going to get it done by Landy. I think.
