toochoosey wrote: »men gone now, i'm eating lunch and looking for a bed for DD with a ladder and slide, as she is currently only in a 3/4 size bed and i want one like a midi bed for the space underneath, at nearly 6 do you think it's worth getting one with a slide or should i get a normal midi with built in storage?
In my house beds are for sleeping on not playing on so I wouldn't get one. It involves excessive trampling of mattresses which decreases their life span massively because the springs are not meant for such pressure. There is also the risk of falling.. would she be likely to injure herself on other furniture if she fell? Storage would probably be so much more useful.. and will last her much longer.. a slide has limited uses whereas a cupboard will always be needed.
Bed with storage and a slide for outside or a folding one for occasional use indoors if you've no room outside.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Round two:
Embb hope you OH got on ok at the dentist
Pigpen sorry to hear about your bunny, hope DD2 is better soon
Kazw I hoover first except for kitchen and bathroom when I mop last
It is pouring here now. Managed to get home from school before the worst of it. I need to take DS1 to town though to get his hair cut and pop into the bank so will be getting wet. Going to take DS3's homework with me for him to do whilst we are sitting there.
Beavers run tonight aswell which is at the woods hut for Halloween so another drenching planned then!
Dropped off some stuff at the scrap store earlier and got some more files to try to organise DS1's coursework and some more fabric to cover my files plus a little GP1 car which was a renault give away. I love scrap store/freecycle etc.
Forgot to tell you. Went to the dump last week to do the recycling and somebody was throwing a pine pedastal dining table away! I've been after the base of one for ages as we have 4 legs on our table so not great on a weekend. So I got the pedastal for free and OH has put our top on.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

oh no!!!!!! I feel a wee bit.. icky...
*Rant alert*
you know I mentioned how 'supportive' my husband is about me being at college.. well.. before I started we had a nice discussion about how he would take the children to school Wednesday and Thursday so he has just booked a whole string of meetings at work for 10am on a wednesday.. while normally this would be fine if it was in his office 5 minutes away but.. oh no that would be far too simple we have to have them.. in SELBY!!!!! so he THINKS he can leave here leaving me to take the children to school and miss college... AND he decides to tell me he has done the same for the Howden job.. on a Thiursday.
Now is this a way to try to stop me going to college because that is exactly what I think it is.. he is being oppressive and trying to stop me doing anything AGAIN!
I think he is forgetting who it was stayed at home night after night while he did 3 evenings a week at uni and then for 3 whole years while he was at uni...
I am NOT happy!!!!! and boy will he know it later!
ok.. finished..

hollyh get your Ds to help you with some of your jobs, he will soon then want to go to bed and sleep as he will see there is nothing to miss except mum doinghouse work and chores!
Mudbath I have done that as well, I told a staff memeber some years ago at the end of a phone conversation, to take care and I loved them!!so I know how it feels!!
Now I always start with the kitchen, sides, floor etc so the floor can be drying whilst I do the rest of the house, but hen I am lazy and do all my main flying on a Saturday morning, generally it takes about 3 to 4 hours and the whole lot is done.
But then again, I don't have kids who muck it up just as it has been cleaned.:D I have 2 cats instead!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

got to go now back later
I would tend to go with the storage bed as those slides can take up more room than you think. Also if she was to have a sleepover in the future there is less room for more girls to kip/dance/playI also think the novelty value of the slide would wear off pretty quickly. I did consider one for W a while ago but for the reasons above and pigpen's I decided against it. HTH

How inconsiderate pigpen! Have you told him exactly what you have told us? Does he know how you feel? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

updated list :j
Toochoosey- I would say that it would depend on how big the room is as I think the slide will take up quite a bit of space so not so good if you are in a small room. Argos do a variety where they do slides or steps. DS is only 4 so is going to have to wait to get a midi-sleeper but probably will get him steps. Do agree with Pigpen that beds are for sleeping in. Well at that age they are;)
Money Saving Diva- Have you got your bank books etc up to date yet?
Pigpen Hugs for you and your family. Losing a pet is never easy not matter how old they are.
Dustykitten- great news about the table. Funny how things work some time.I'm mortified!!!! A new client has just phoned me up and made an appointment for next week. She was really impressed by all the treatments I did and the training i've had. She then phoned back to get a price and as I put the phone down I meant to say 'lovely' but it came out as 'love you'!!! OMG I hope she didn't hear me........:o :rotfl:
I guess if she phones and cancels then she heard me!!!!January Grocery 11/3740 -
