I saw in the paper today that Tesco have energy saving lightbulbs at 5 for 40p so I got DD1 to get some while she was doing her shopping. They had trouble with them at the till (going through at full price = 5 for £5!) but they got it sorted. They're for DD2 when she moves out, I've already got spares.

Oooh, forgot about this... I went into the shop last night and they were advertising 5 for 40p, but they are selling them INDIVIDUALLY AT £1 EACH?????:confused:

I checked, and they said, no, it's right, £1 each or 5 for 40p? confusing, why would you only buy one eh!?... but he did say that you have to buy 5 all the same type, so perhaps that's why there was a problem at the tills pollybear...?

  • Evening ladies.

I've survived the party(just about). I'm rather tired though - i think mostly from doing everything all week, after a busy weekend last weekend, plus more busy-ness tomorrow for the meet.

DS2 is being a bit of a monkey and waking up again in the evening and getting very distraught, but then falling asleep as you hold him over your shoulder, and crying again as soon as he hits the cot - i've tried sleeping on his front and back, lying him down in our bed next to us, but no idea what is going on there. Might be his teeth, but he is also a little coldy  Or, DH reckons he is just being a little PITA. Most annoying last night as i needed DH to help me get the house sorted for the party, and he didn't get him in the cot till 11:30ish. I ended up doing loads myself, and then it got to midnight and we needed sleep, and then we had to get up and have the royal run around this morning. We got there in the end though.

The cat also seems to have a cold. He is really wheezy too.

DH and DS1 fixed my car this afternoon in the rain - don't know if i mentioned someone ran into DH in it when he dropped the cats off at the cattery before we went to London, luckily only snapping off the wing mirror, so he got a new one from a brokers and spent a while fixing it as it is all electrical. All done now anyway.

I have fly-ladied the remains of the kiddies buffet for the rest of the afternoon and generally slobbed. I feel shattered and can't really be bothered. Not helped as AF hasn't returned yet for me since i had DS2, and i had the idea that when i finished feeding DS2 it would be back fairly quickly, so i have got myself all stressed thinking i might be pregnant again. Hopefully i'm not, but i've ordered some cheapie tests from ebay so i can put my mind at rest. That really would be stupid of me if i were, but no point stressing till i know.

Anyway, that's about all for me - think i will do some more sofa slobbing, I have an overdue library book that i should finish reading so i can take it back.

Have a good one everyone x And i'll see some of you tomorrow.

Julie i've sent you a PM back - good job you said as i don't always notice them straight away

    hiya everyone
I'm going to try and read some of the thread now but am shattered so not convinced I won't end up with my nose on the keyboard!

Up at 630 this morning walking the dogs. Really glad I did as it was lovely and dry and then poured down all day! Worked most of today with the odd hour off to play with pup. Just back from visiting friend in hospital. She seems a lot better now and will hopefully be out early next week.

I'm going to do a quick s/s of the kitchen before I go to bed and then do a major vacuum job downstairs tomorrow. I might also start on the children's room whilst they're away.

Right, not to read the epic that is this thread! xx

yu hoo:p back again, to tell you all more about my day...well, the washing machine went on twice. The first lot went out on the line, 2nd lot was mostly towels sooo used the tumble dryer to make them all fluffy. Emptied household bins. lit coal fire for heat, then hovered around and tided up. Washed floors as most are laminated. Watched dvd with DS. Pealed and cooked a whole carrier bag of cooking apples (given free for the picking up of wind falls) read the paper and coffee break. Looked on the web for good shopping offers:rolleyes: . Went to MR T's. Came back and cooked dinner, then washed up.Chatted on phone and now off to wash my hair....all go, but then it is a mum's thing...
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

    Evening

Hope you've all had a good day

Well we did about 3 hours in DD's room and it still doesnt look any better but I'm going through all the cupboards and sorting/chicking as we go so there are no excuses for it being full of carp again. She made me laugh as she said she enjoyed having quality time with me !! !!!!!! - I do not consider mucking out a pigsty as quality time.

Anyway teas all eaten and we're now watching X factor, then it'll be early bed for me so that we can get cracking again in the morning.

Catch up with you all tomorrow

    Kaz x

Michelle, you sound shattered honey, hope you get some good sleep & little one behaves. Matthews teething at the mo, has been for a couple of months now and is being awful with it. Womans stuff, pop along to see the gp if you're worried, mine took few months after feeds stopped to straighten out. £ shops do tests too I think. Library books - I always rebook online.

Kaz, it might seem strange for her to say it but spending that long in one room just you and her, kids see things in different ways. Pleased your making progress with it, I hate the feeling you get when you've worked your backside off but it looks no better, I've been doing the same monday-thursday, was only friday it looked any better.

    |Back on the boat :rotfl: well it feels like one in this wind, forecast to ease a little tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed it does, the sea looks awful tonight and I could see boats out, braver than me. I keep having to bring the step in, went to step out on it earlier and it blew away :rotfl: nearly landed on my bum much to the kids amusement.

With the B&Q bulbs thing does that inc halogen ones? If it does I might be plaguing them with 9 for the caravan and 17 for the house :D

    Time for Casualty me thinks.
One day I might be more organised...........

Just caught up with the thread. I didn't get to Coventry for the meeting as DD became more unwell, and I had to call the out of hours nurse, and then was up during the night with her. I woke up this morning with a really bad headache, and didn't either feel like going all that way or leaving DD ( I know OH is still here, but it's not quite the same!).

I spent the whole morning knitting and drinking cups of tea and keeping DD company and then did a little bit of shopping and nipped to the allotment for a little while to get the veggies this afternoon while she was alseep. No flying in this house today!

Hugs to all those flyladies in need of one, and virtual chocolate or wine as appropriate!

    Back tomorrow.

AnW'sMum I am still hoping to get down in November, it all depends if DPs friend manages to get a place, I'm being awful hoping that he doesn't :o I can split the fuel costs 3 ways then, makes it doable.
