End of balance transfer offers?

Just noticed one bank has withdrawn 0% on BT and purchases from their site. No offers on BTs now. Do we think all the card providers are going to go this way? Or just the panicky ones?

hi again clio,
Barclaycard withdrew their free BT offer to existing customers last month and that offer had been very long standing.
However the next week Tesco wrote to me offering free BT and fixed LOB interest rate for any BT's done during September.
So they are still about but seem to be getting more selective inthe offers.

the way I saw it , Barclaycard just added a 2.5% fee to the BT which is pretty much in line with a lot of others.
Just seems that there are changes but they still want to make money...just in a different way.For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

They keep telling me it's the end of the BT! But I don't believe them!! Virgin have just EXTENDED theirs from 14 to 15 months!
On the upside there;s now no fee to transfer to RBS!!Kavanne

I take it - thats for new customers and not people who have cards allready??
btw when did this actually change then!!0 -
Looks like my cheque into bank account went in at right time as ive just checked and they have placed a BT Fee on my account of £26-10 dated 16th October.0

Hi Rodent and Y/B,
Tesco are in the process of opening thier own bank and expect to launch it early next year. They have recently bought back thier shares that were held by RBS as part of this process.
Interestingly NatWest and Mint are both RBS so its not surprising that BT offers cease on on all 3 at the same time. I wonder if it also has anything to do with the fact that RBS is being swallowed up by Barclaycard under this rescue package thing.0 -
Hello Meth
Hope the mint card doesn't end up being run by barclaycard as they will change everything to suit them ..0
