Have 2008/09 Cash ISA, can I have Shares ISA too?

I've had a NS&I Mini Cash ISA running for three years, which I have dutifully put my £3K into each year. This year (2008/09) of course I have put £3,600 in, and I assume that this is now my Cash ISA for this year.
Now I want to get a Stocks & Shares ISA to use the other £3,600 of my 2008/09 allowance, which of course cannot be cash. I am loooking at the Hargreaves & Lansdowne Vantage ISA.
Will I be able to open this separate Vantage Stocks & Shares ISA for £3,600 with no difficulties? I.e. the fact that I have put £3,600 into NS&I Cash ISA already this year won't be an issue? I wouldn't have to move my N&SI cash into the Vantage ISA?
Hope someone can explain.

Thats fine you can do that. Thats pretty much it.... Cash and S&S are seperate identities, you can open them with different providers. One cash with NS&I and one S&S with HL0
