  • Thanks for all the words of support/advice :D

That 25p was spent in the pub last night, I usually need refreshment after a long shift on my feet, it has to be non alcoholic since I drive, if its got caffeine in it (ie cola) it keeps me awake all night, I don't like lemonade so I'm left with either juices that cost a couple of quid (which I know adds up over the course of the week) or my 25p a glass blackcurrant cordial!!

Today I've finished work early as it's quiet, popped in to Mr T's to pick up my prescription & a few bits & bobs:
    • Choc Brownie (65p) Prob. didn't need :p
    • Starburst (33p) Again, could prob. have done without
    • Dairy Milk Multipack (£1.03) These are for my lunch at work
    • Weetos (£2.64) The only cereal I like that actually fills me up
    • Apple & Strawberry Squash (83p) This is for home but mum keeps forgetting to pick it up
    • Hula Hoops Multipack (£1.23) Again, these are for my lunch at work
    • Total Spend £6.71
I also got £10 cash whilst at the shop, planning on going to a football game tonight to watch a friend play so that will cost about £5.

Other than that I shall be speding the rest of the afternoon yet again hunting for that ever elusive career!!

    Much Love

oo Lizzie that's about £3.00 on a not very substantial/healthy lunch! What about DIY sarnies as suggested by gnr? If you have to buy stuff, can you not get economy packs and take whatever you fancy with you each day? Buying choccy/crisps individually costs sooooo much more [x 5 days/x ? weeks = £only you can work it out.
  • Hi all

Nomad - the crisps & chocolate bought yesterday were multipacks, both will last a couple of weeks to accompany the DIY sarnies, and are to stop me from spending 90p a day (see Mondays post) in the vending machines at work.

Last night's trip to the football match cost me £8  (bloody inflation) but this was a one off as it's unlikely I'll have the chance to go agan for a while.

Todays spends currently stand at just 20p that I spent this morning on a hot choccy from the machine (I was sooooooooooooooo cold) but I very rarely succumb to this.

I'm working again tonight so again there's the possibility of the 25p pub spend but I don't think I've done too badly 45p total spend.

Keeping track of everything here is really helping to keep me focussed. Thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming :D

That's great Lizzie, don't want to apear a mean old misery by picking up on little things, :p but if you think we've all got our beady eyes on your spends - it will keep you on track. Spending diaries are real eye openers :eek:aren't they?

Hey that's nearly 100% increase on the football, talk about sticking the arm in  - trouble is most of us are faced with this sort of thing and there's not much option but to stump up. You've got to allow yourself a few treats to make all the rest of the scrimping and saving tolerable.

You're doing good, hang in there. Any luck with gnr's suggested website?
  • Well last night's 25p pub spend turned into 75p, I was starving when I came out of work so bought a bag of crisps aswell. Still not bad though, and total spends for yesterday came in at under £1 which is a vast improvement from a couple of weeks ago.

In other news...I've so far spent nothing today (quite proud of myself since there was a sale at work today) I will be going to the pub later but I'm hoping my sister will buy the majority of the drinks and snacks. Either way I will try not to spend over £5 (Thursday is usually my only night out, since it's the only night I don't work my 2nd job)

On the job front, my CV is already registered with all the jobs websites, and I am currently going through last nights job pages from the newspaper to see if there's anything there. So far I've got two, back to that in a mo.

Thanks again to all those reading & posting. I'm pretty sure my daily ramblings must bore you to tears!!

    Much Love

You're not talking to yourself now :p

Looks like you're doing well then. Better than me atleast! Although I've had a NSD so far, only because I've been lazy lol.

I guess you'll be at work now Lizzie, but you've not been left alone.

It's just sometimes it's good to feel you are not always being scrutinised/nagged - and for you to learn to motivate yourself.

If you're not working this w/end [your first MSE DFW one] I think you'll find it quite tough to keep your money in your pocket, so maybe phyche yourself up for it - think of some N/S things you can do that will make you feel good.

Have a good one and keep checking in next week.
  • Yesterday was another NSD :D

I am working again today but I'm also going out after work for two birthdays. Will be driving so hoping not to spend too much, will take £20 with me but make whatever's left last me for next week.

I do also need to put petrol in my car today before work or I won't get there:rolleyes:

Will try my very very best to keep spending to a minimum.
