Joker costume for OH - Help!

We are off to a Halloween party and OH wants to go as The Joker (Heath Ledgers version) but the costumes are tbh a bit lacklustre - and soooooo expensive

I reckon we can put it together quite a bit cheaper but am struggling to find the long purple coat / jacket - any ideas you clever lot

eBay? Not sure what it looks like so can;t really help but you could also try charity shops - remember light colours could be dyed purple.

Hi, my daughter is going to a fancy dress party as the Joker next week too! She will be wearing purple skinny jeans, a black shirt and a pinstriped waistcoat, and has bought a small pot of liquid latex to make the scars. She tried it all on last night, and it looks fab, even though it's not really the right clothes iyswim! I think if you get the overall 'feel' right, he will look fine, so maybe a purple shirt and a waistcoat may be cheaper than a long coat. Check out the charity shops!
The liquid latex really makes a difference too, you only need a bit for his mouth scars...you can get a pot on eBay for about a fiver, then you need to make him nice and pale, and a big slash of red lippy!!
DD will also be dying her hair bright green for the occasion, but that may be one step too far for your OH !! :rotfl:

Thanks for the tips. DD2 has done some make-up in the past for school plays and has volunteered to do his make-up. The liquid latex sounds fab so will go and order a pot. As for the hair he is going down the wig route as he has a grade 2 all over :D
