MARTIN, HOLD THE CEOs TO ACCOUNT
Comments
-
Martin, thankyou for your posting concerning Icesave.
Could you give us your opinion to the OP where the subject of holding to account various CEOs is suggested.
The bottom line is many an innocent shareholder (lots being of pensionable age) have been devastated by the loss of B&B and NRock going into govt control. Add to this the debacle of the remaining banks, with the various conditions now placed upon them, and even more shareholders have seen their portfolio 'harpooned'.
My underlying point is that four weeks ago everything was fine and dandy, and as usual the chaps in charge were singing the same song, namely 'everything is fine, invest in us'. Clearly it was not, as behind the scenes these same chaps were overseeing some very dodgy transactions, which now they are becoming common knowledge, resemble the output of Enron.
How can it be that innocent members of the public can be decieved in such a way by 'gentleman' being paid handsome salaries and bonuses.
To coin a phrase they fiddled while Rome burned. This being the case how can we hold these mongriels to account?0 -
In response to my original posting, I have just heard the most disturbing news which has to be actioned upon by somebody. Who exactly, I need others to help guide.
The big news is that I understand that those at a high level in HBOS knew about they dodgy predicament weeks ago, inlcuding the MP that sits on the board.
This begs the question can someone clarify who this MP is?
Why he and the rest of his cronies sat on their hands and let us shareholders lose millions.?
Can others please comment on these matters in order for those to be held to account. This fraud pure and simple, and we have swallowed it without rebuke.0 -

Then shareholders could have lost the lot.
Damned if he did. Damned if he didn't.
His real mistake was not having a clue, along with many others on that board, of how to hold the management to account in the years before this. That is his true "crime" if you are a shareholder.0
