Help with Sainsbury basic microwave

I wasn't really sure where to post but here goes.

I bought a Sainsburys basic microwave yesterday which has a silver piece of cardboard tucked into a vent on the side wall, I'm not sure if it is part of that packaging or not and the instructions are no help, one side of me thinks why would there be a piece of cardboard making up the microwave and the other side thinks why would they go to the trouble of making it silver if it wasn't. Has anyone got one? Can you help?

Sam

Well, every microwave I've had has also had this piece of cardboard on one of the inside walls. As far as I understand it's part of the microwave and shouldn't be removed. Can't tell you what it's for though!

    Thanks TomsMom,

Its my first microwave! I've never been a lover of them but being a household of one and the rising fuel costs it seemed a good idea, I'm forever having the oven on to reheat yesterdays leftovers etc, such a waste, I'll leave the cardboard where it is then, very weird.....
