PC World Business won't refund me!

I purchased a Xerox 6110 laser printer, it was delivered Thursday late pm. Used it Friday and it kept paper jamming & then the magenta toner ran out after 120 pages. I rang the PC World Business centre & they told me to bring it back. At the store the sales people had to ring the their customer service. I was told that because I was a "business" customer and PC World Business are a "reseller" not a retailer, I did not have the right to a refund. They offered to replace the item in 5 DAYS!
I argued for 1/2 an hour and got nowhere! Is this correct, my rights dissapear because they are a "reseller" ?

DSR and SOGA don't apply as you are deemed to be a business customer when buying from PCWB.
You are entitled to a replacement printer without toner cartridges if it is faulty - contact Xerox as they normally do this themselves.
The toner cartridges are only starter size and the coverage figures are stated for 5% page coverage (as standard across the industry). 120 pages seems reasonable unless you've just been printing text.
The Xerox 6110 isn't a very good printer it seems. Hope you didn't pay too much for it - the going rate for this printer brand new is around £60 with the 6110N network version going for about £70-£75.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Hi withabix,
Thankyou for you informative (if disappointing) answer. I paid £68 for it and got an extra deal on the paper. I did try to upgrade to a HP model & pay the difference. Sales staff wanted to do it but were outgunned by the CS operative!
