Hi
Please can anyone give me some info
I have one child and have just found out that I am pregnant again. I am a single mum and working part-time. I receive working tax credit/child tax credit and I also recieve £60 a week from the job centre for going back to work.
Please can anyone help me and tell me what I will be intitled to when my second child arrives, I do plan on going back to work a few months after the baby is born as I do not want to go back on Income support.
Will I be allowed maternity allowance from my employer as I only started in May 08?
While I am not working do I have to pay rent and council tax?
I have no ideas of what I will be able to recieve while I am not working for the few months that I will want to spend with my new born,
Please dont anyone judge me as I am a single mum, pregnant again, thats a difference story.
Thank you all in advance that have taken the time to read and reply to me.

Hello Kate - Without knowing too much, I'd say the best thing to do at the moment is to use
www.entitledto.com
you can bash all your details into it and it should give you at least an idea of your position.
I'm sure someone will be along soon - its Sunday and normally the slow day..
best wishes0 -
Bloody hell, it's the second coming! Single female that is pregnant. *shakes head in despair*
Don't worry, we'll look after you and your children and pay your rent and council tax.
Honestly, how could you be so irresponsible?0 -

Don't be childish. You may not like what others post, but it does not necessarily make them a troll - nor does a low post count. We all started with a low post count once.
Can you not at least make a reasoned argument on why you disagree with the comments shrouded_1 made? At the moment you look slightly childish - it is the last resort of the playground - when you have no argument left resort to childish, pointless insults.
I actually think shrouded_1 has a point and said so yesterday. Unfortunately my post was deleted but the point remains. The OP has behaved with a deplorable lack of foresight seeing as she is already a single parent and is now intent on bringing another fatherless child into the world.
When did we, as a nation, cross the line into a world where it is OK for a child to not have a father? All children have the right to have a loving father in their lives; parents that care about each other and support each other and their family in times of trouble and joy. When my sister and I reminisce about our childhood our father features so heavily.
I understand that relationships break down and !!!! less men make all the promises in the world and then run away. I understand that there are women all over the world that have been abandoned by the fathers of the their children and I understand that they did not make single parenthood a lifestyle choice. There are too many now though, that are making being a single parent a choice and it is wrong. There are also far too many women happy to get pregnant with no real security from the father of the child.
This is the choice the OP appears to have made and my heart goes out to the child and the thousands of others that will be born without a loving Dad to play football, make model aeroplanes, fix his or her bike and just generally be there on a day to day basis.0 -
I read the first post and automaticly said to myself "here we go again" single parent bring another baby into the world without a father. THEN pulled myself up and said "i don't know her personal situation so should not jump to conclusions". It is hard we are only human but as a single parent with 2 child by 2 fathers (married both times for 4 and 5 years) i get the looks but from people who do not know my situation. So lets not jump on her without facts that he knowingly and with due aforthourght intented to bring another child into this world without a father. Yes loads of woman DO that but we don't know that the op is one of them.0
