dla renewal - totally confused

hello,
i'm a newbie here and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on dla renewals please.
my son (4) was awarded high rate of care and high rate of mobility last september, it was awarded for 3 years.
i had heard somewhere that there is always a renewal sent out a few months before the child's 5th birthday but was informed on another board that the renewal will only be sent out before the award expires.
so basically i'm not sure if i'll be looking at a renewal in a few months time or in 2 years time.
bit stressed out by this uncertainty!
thanks so much x

The award should last until it expires, but a renewal form is usually sent out about 6 months before the expiry date. I have not heard of reviews at the age of 5.0

I agree with above poster renewal forms are usually sent out about 6 months before the expiry date. I have not heard of reviews at the age of 5 either.Competitions wins 2010
