Lapland New Forest Scam. How to get money back...

Thanks for that, we are going today. I have been told different things by consumer direct and my credit card (Abbey). Abbey told me I had to go in order to complain but that the dispute was with quality rather than non service and as such any claim would be unlikely to succeed under Visa's own policy (even when I pointed out S.75 covers misinterpretation and Visa had to comply with English Law), consumer direct told me I would have a stronger case if I didnt go as would be mitigating the cost (ie by not incurring additional costs such as petrol). Got fed up of getting mixed messages so decided to speak to the financial ombudsmen this morning who were extremely helpful and confirmed that in order to get a refund you would have to 'use' the service paid for and then put in a complaint- if you have one. If your bank then wont pay up you can then consult with the financial ombudsmen who would take up the complaint on your behalf. They also pointed out that costs of journeys and the like could also be claimed for. Hope this helps any one else in the same position. I for one am taking fully charged camera and camcorder for prosperity/evidence!0

Edinburghlass wrote: »Like others I have a problem with the fact that one of the "uks top kennels" would be selling dogs purely for the purpose of chaining them up for a few weeks in December and then what, do they buy them back? Is this what you breed your dogs for?
I'm sure that reputable Husky breeders and Husky rescue folk would be interested to know exactly what top UK kennels these dogs came from.
No they would not have been sold to the owners with any knowledge of this sham of an event, but those dogs come from a very loving home and during the rest of the year they run free at home and go for very very long runs around the forrests.0 -
Just spoke to Adie Daramy - the Press Oficer at Bankruptcy Enforcement who wasn't a lot of use but did his best under my onslaught.
He pulled the old trick of the two Victor Mears aren't the same, but that's old hat now. Hiding behind his father only means that Mr Victor Mears Junior is making his father liable to a spell in prison too. :rotfl:
Mr Daramy has given me the name of the Chief Examiner there and I'll speak to him shortly. After that I'll contact H M Customs and Revenue and I won't have finished there.
Follow the money is the adage - and as it's going to Victor Mears Jnr - he's got some explaining to do. I wonder who has authority to sign on the company account.
One thing of great importance is if any people who paid by cheque and sent the money to Onslow Road could speak up. That very much suggests that the father is being sed as a front for his son - which is illegal.
If the company is shut down - then there is no need to go through the rigmarole of visiting the site to evidence how bad it is. You'll still need to reclaim through your card company, but it will make it a lot easier of the company is gone.
At the moment his bank will be sweating - as they'll face a tidal wave of claims, and deservedly so, as they allowed this monstrosity to operate.
I am recording all calls I make. :cool:0 -

Or claim against the bank?0 -

Btw I certainly didn't mean to 'thank' your post.
So Bridget Jones what makes you an expert on the dogs then are you a vet as you seem to know more than the RSPCA inspectors.
You have taken it upon yourself to publicly brand me a liar, I would be very grateful if you could tell me just what I have lied about.0 -
p1an0player at this stage I would make a claim on your card company.
Clearly it would normally be the case that you should visit the place to establish that it falls short of what you expected from their advertisising, which is why their website has been up and down like -- whatever.
There is a chance that the international hullabaloo caused and widespread knowledge that it's a rip off, may make that unnecessary. I'm fighting to get the company shut down, which will make that all unnecessary. All parties know what's going on. It's just a case of putting enough pressure on those responsible to take the proper action.
... and that's just what I'll be doing today.
The financial Ombudsman Service is only for use when you have a complaint against a bank. They may come into play later, and I'll involve the Pope and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse if I have to, as I'm not one to let go once I get started.
I don't deal nicely with scammers - and I have the death threats to prove it.
If the bank face a tidal waveof claims - which they will - then the company will lose their merchant facility (though I imagine that was toasted some time back) but more importantly, they'll look at their customer as a liability and remove support, and their bank will know the detail of what's been going on, and could face investigation themselves if they have acted in any way to assist or cover any attempt to circumvent Bankruptcy Enforcement.0 -
Lapland website re worded ...again! stating they wanted to publish a statement from trading standards but were not allowed and anyone interested to contact trading standards or consumer direct for a statement...me first me first anyone know the number?0
-
I am truly touched(NOT!) that they want to do things by the book and not publish something on their site that they do not have permission to do...wish they had shown more due care when advertising their winter wonderland where dreams can come true!etc etc0

Mr Bott is not answering so I went back to MrDaramy and he said that Mr Bott is in a meeting. That didn't please me greatly so I gave him an idea of where I was going next and I told him to give Mr Bott my number, and I would begin piling calls on him from other official bodies until I get a call back.
At that stage I was informed that I was not the 1st caller, or even the 10th who had rung about this, which I think is a subtle way of suggesting that there is a roost where chickens will be coming home for Mr Mears et al.
Anyway, I never like to welch on a promise or a threat, so now on to H M Customs and Revenue.0 -
