    Hi Becs Love the idea of a jigsaw puzzle. Iwas thinking - small gingerbread men all fixed together. Don't know how you would do it though!

    can I ask a quick question please- how long would gingerbread men stay fresh for as I want to make some perfect men for my friends but dont want to leave it to right on top of christmas.

    aww sounds really sweet!! I would put as many sweets as possible on it just for comedy value - they are kids and kids love sweets!!!

    It doesn't last all that long really a few days I would say in an airtight container.

    JamTart I'm with you on that if only to wind my brother up! You should have seen the train cake I made nephew for his second birthday! It was on 2 cake boards and full of sweets! They don't get sweets all the time but I think birthdays and Christmas should be about treats!
  • When I lived out in the States, we used to make gingerbread houses and eat them weeks after. Okay, they weren't the freshest gingerbread, but to kids they tasted just fine.

    katiecoodle - thanks for the link to that pimp my snack site, its fabulous haha, cant believe the effort these people have put into making them, brilliant. have been sitting for ages reading how to make giant kitkats and twix bars. cant wait to show my daughter when she comes in although think she will probably want to try one of them out.
