power chairs

Can anyone recommend a good one?

it needs to have great suspension, a high weight limit and a good range....and not look too granny-ish :p

I have a jazzy pride atm and it breaks all the time - forever in for repair
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

I would recommend another Pride chair. If yours has been breaking down a lot I would suggest you have either been unlucky or the weight you describe has been too much to bear.

The Quantum 6000 is a superb machine for suspension and quality of ride, if you search you will find videos of it going cross country at an impressive rate.

The Q600 is a very tough machine with an upgrade available for the very heavy framed individual.

do not get solid tyres with any powerchair, the loss of traction is unbrlievable

These are both superb machines and are head and shoulders above their competitors.

I am in the mobility industry but have no affiliation with Pride.

Another you might try is the sunrise medical f55, we have not had much to do with this one, but it seems to hold it's own even though it is massive and is rear wheel drive.

Thanks, that's the one I was looking at the Q6000 but I've had so much trouble with the Jazzy that I have, I'm not sure if I trust Pride now. Re weight, I'm well below the weight limit so it shouldn't be that. Someone suggested that it's because the seat is on the motor or axel or summit and cause I don't distrubute my weight evenly (can't) that could be why I'm having so much bother. I've had motors die, bushens die, axels do summit dodgy (wasn't broke, think it had slipped or something, I dunno). Part of me wonders if it's because the streets aren't exactly well laid around here so it's going over uneven terrain alot, but apparently it should be able to handle it.
