Javascript problem

Good morning

I am having a problem when using certain websites which use Javascript to open new windows (to log in etc.).

When I click on the 'log in' option (or whatever) nothing happens. "javascript:do_ log in();" appears in the bottom bar when I hover, but nothing actually happens (if I try to open in a new window, I get a 'Page not found' message).

Any suggestions? I thought there was some kind of option with 'Internet Options', but I can't spot it.

Many thanks

Sounds like you might need the new java plugin http://www.java.com/en/ click on download now.
  • To see if Javascript not being enabled is the problem, type javascript:alert('test') in the address bar of Internet Explorer and press return. You should get an alert message pop up.

To enable/disable Javascript in Internet Explorer, click Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - Internet zone - Custom level, scroll almost to the bottom and in the Scripting section enable/disable Active scripting.

What about Zone Alarm? If you have check out the Mobile Code (javascript) blocking options.

I've tried disabling script blocking in Nortons, but that's not worked...If anyone else wants to try www.manutd.com, several of the menu options are Javascript commands. See if they work for you.
