Mosst Energy Efficient Fridge Freezer - HELP!

I've been trying to find an energy efficient fridge freezer. I don't want anything ridiculous like these huge American style things. Does anyone know what the bes one is to get? I've seen A+ and A++ and A, but when you look at the energy sconsumption, some A+ seem to use more energy than the A.

I know that lots of people are going to be looking at this, because it saves money in the long run. So any opinions are appreciated!

  • I bought a Daewoo frost free fridge freezer recently, it's large enough at 10.6 cu ft and is A rated for energy efficiency.

The price was £170 from Currys but I managed to get the sales person to knock £20 off. Any other decent frost free fridge freezers where over 200 quid so at £150 I thought it was a good buy, anyways it's still working and I'm pleased with it.

    hope this helps
  • You are correct, some A rated are better than A++
When I was looking I found online useless, I then went into comet and they all have stickers on them saying how many units they all take.

I think the best I found a huge whirlpool upright fridge freezer which used 270KWh. When I did my calculations against my current fridge freezer (around 8-10 years old) the payback or me would be around 5 years!!! If mine goes bad I will be looking but seeing as big appliances only have a 1 year warrenty I'll use my old one for now.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

AFAIK the rating system is based on the power consumption to capacity ratio.
