Sounds like bull to me Version 1 software in a television?? But WAS there any HD material 18mths ago ????? It was not being tranmitted then was it ??
Try some "older" HD content to see if it works

Software does change in the TV (well to be exact the firmware can/does), but it should have been fine with Sky HD as they were broadcasting 18 months ago, and the HDCP standard hasn't changed in the past 18 months or more (IIRC it was finalised about 2-3 years ago).
From memory Sky HD did have some problems with specific sets, as does/did the PS3 due to a software bug in their implimentation of the HDCP standard, however i'm not sure if that is what is happning now.
To check if it is the TV or the Sky HD I would if possibly try another HDCP complient source (PS3, HDDVD or blu-ray player if possible).0

HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players wwere around 18 months ago as was Sky HD and Telewest/Virgin had some HD on their TVdrive/V+ boxes.
To the OP if possible it would be worth trying other sources to confirm it is definately a TV problem and nit a Sky issue. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
