BT's 12 month handcuffs even though ive been with them 3 years

Weve been with BT for 3 years, paying with no problem...but 5 months ago the bills had to be put in my name and not the other occupants...same house..same bill...same date as its been for 3 years.
now im moving out and I have 3 choices.
pay £125 for BT to put a line in the new property and enter a new 12 month contract
pay up the remainder of a 12 month term = approx £80, this term apparatly reset to 12 months when the name on the bill changed.
Have the line changed to another address but enter a new contract.
I understand the £125 if there is no line at the property....but then im back in a 12 month contract...if i dont want this i have to pay for the phone line i no longer have for the next 7 months..even though ive been with BT for 3 years..
Any one fancy being a money saving expert please?

4th choice, pay BT £29.99 to to put a line in the new property and enter a new 18 month contract (make 10 chargeable or inclusive calls per month too).
http://www.serviceview.bt.com/list/public/current/Notice08_boo/FrameworkImpl291574.htm#FrameworkImpl291574Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

even worse to be honest.....do BT not reward loyalty...im shafted either way..theres no visable way BT benefit anything other that $$$$$ by making me restart a 12 month contract even if ive been with them for years.
entering into 18 month sucks for me worse than the 7 months i have remainding....i wouldnt mind paying a cancellation fee..but paying for the next 7 months...and then not even get chance to use the line is plain stupid.Chasing up on: Barclaycard closed account 1K +

name change = new customer = new contract. seems like your stuck im afraid but the 18 month £29.99 deal is the best option to avoid charges.0

Even moving without paying for installation has a 12 months contract. If saved £2710 and only spent the interest (Based on a return of 5%), you would have enough money to pay your TV Licence every year. Saving you £7452.50 over a period of 55 years, based on you buying a license from the age of 20 until your 75 at a cost of £135.50.0
